The History of the Gundam Mk-V
Originally developed by the Augusta Newtype Research Institute as an evolution of the MRX-009 Psycho Gundam, the Gundam Mk-V was a prototype mobile suit commissioned by the Titans. Following the Titans’ decline during the Gryps Conflict, development shifted to the Federation Forces, which completed three prototypes. However, the Mk-V never saw active combat.
Unlike its predecessor, the Mk-V introduced the revolutionary Quasi-psycommu system, which allowed standard pilots to operate advanced weaponry without requiring Newtype capabilities. This system controlled the INCOM weapons stored in its backpack, enabling wire-guided attacks with unparalleled precision. The Mk-V could also be equipped with a shield booster, enhancing its mobility and thrust, reminiscent of the RX-121 Gundam TR-1 Hazel.
Although its cutting-edge design made it a formidable unit, the Gundam Mk-V’s high speed and extreme maneuverability posed significant challenges for its pilots. One notable incident involved Brave Cod, who sustained severe injuries while performing emergency evasive actions due to the suit’s demanding controls.
Now immortalised in this clear color edition, the Gundam Mk-V continues to captivate fans with its legacy of innovation and bold design—perfectly realised in this exclusive Master Grade release.
