Tamiya Rolls Out New 1:35 M36 U.S. Tank Destroyer Model Kit
Tamiya is back with a fresh release for armour enthusiasts — the 1:35 scale M36 U.S. Tank Destroyer (No. 35390), landing in stores from August 2025. Nicknamed the “Jackson,” the M36 made its mark in World War II with its punchy 90mm gun and open-top turret, and now modellers can bring this battlefield icon to life on their workbenches.
Kit Highlights:
- Scale: 1:35
- Dimensions: 216mm (length) x 88mm (width)
- Newly tooled kit (except for the M2 heavy machine gun and clear parts)
- Detailed open-top turret with breech, shell racks, and stowage
- Realistic cast textures on the turret counterweight
- Includes ammo crates and a full-body tanker figure
- Assembly-type tracks with single-piece straight sections for easier building
- Markings for vehicles from the 3rd Army in Luxembourg and the 774th Tank Destroyer Battalion in Germany
The M36 was America’s answer to increasingly tough German armour late in the war, combining mobility with serious firepower. Designed from the M10A1 chassis but packing a bigger punch, it entered the fray in October 1944 and helped turn the tide against heavy enemy tanks.
The new Tamiya kit comes in at £39.95 and is available for pre-order through authorised retailers.
