Azur Raven Steps into the KADOPLA Line
A new 1/48 scale Azur Raven assembly model has been announced by KADOKAWA, drawing from the Full Metal Panic Family storyline set twenty years after the original series. Introduced as a privately manufactured Arm Slave built outside official military channels, Azur Raven expands the franchise’s mechanical roster and joins the KADOKAWA PLASTIC MODEL SERIES with a scheduled release in August 2026. Both a standard edition and a special edition with additional components have been confirmed.
Within the narrative, Azur Raven is configured using a hybrid structure based on the JGSDF Type 11 platform combined with M9-series elements. Its equipment includes a rapid-change propulsion system capable of sustained hovering, an ECS electromagnetic camouflage system enabling full visual concealment, and remote Lambda Driver activation supported by an AI referred to as AL. The machine is positioned within the story as one of the most capable third-generation Arm Slaves.
Specifications
The kit is produced at 1/48 scale with a completed height of approximately 18 cm. It is designed as a fully articulated plastic model kit, using white, dark grey, and deep blue moulded parts, supported by selected pre-painted components. Mechanical supervision was carried out by Kanetake Ebikawa, with emphasis placed on armour definition, dense mechanical detailing, and articulation suitable for complex action poses.
Accessories / Features
The standard edition includes multiple interchangeable hands, covering clenched fists, open hands, relaxed open hands, weapon-holding hands, and blade-holding hands. Weapons consist of the Type 0 Kai monomolecular cutter and the Boxer 2 76mm shotgun, both of which can be stored in the left forearm and rear skirt armour or mounted via two universal hardpoints. Miniature figures of Sousuke Sagara and Natsumi Sagara are included for scale reference.
The special edition adds a plated version of the Type 10 Kai monomolecular cutter featuring a silver-finished blade and gold-finished scabbard fittings, along with a dedicated display base designed by Kanetake Ebikawa that includes articulation and a nameplate. Packaging for the special edition also includes an illustrated outer box designed to house both the main kit and the exclusive components.
For both editions, orders placed through KADOKAWA’s official store include a bonus set comprising one additional Boxer 2 76mm shotgun and two magazines, identical to those supplied with the base kit.
Release Details
The standard edition is priced at 9,900 yen, approximately S$89, while the special edition is priced at 13,750 yen, approximately S$124. Both versions are scheduled for release in August 2026.
