Cowabunga on Wheels – JoyToy Reveals the 1/18 TMNT Turtle Van
JoyToy (暗源) has announced a new 1/18 scale vehicle based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Turtle Van. The release adapts the familiar design of the vehicle into JoyToy’s existing scale line, continuing the company’s focus on functional small-scale vehicles.
Constructed primarily from ABS plastic, the Turtle Van follows the proportions of its animated counterpart with clear body segmentation and working doors. The images released show a layered structure, including separate roof and side components that allow for movement and part articulation. Rolling wheels and defined panel lines are visible, with moulded body sections forming the base framework of the van. The model is compatible with JoyToy’s 1/18 scale figures, matching the sizing standard used across the company’s previous vehicle releases.
The interior includes a moulded dashboard, seating layout, and structural detailing visible through the side openings. Internal equipment panels and flooring have been incorporated into the casting to preserve the mechanical consistency of the van’s design. While accessory information has not yet been confirmed, the promotional material indicates that the main functional elements will be the opening doors and hatches.
Surface moulding remains consistent throughout the vehicle, showing uniform panel division without visible fasteners or exposed joints. The preview material suggests a straightforward finish suitable for either standalone display or integration with other 1/18 scale setups.
The TMNT Turtle Van is planned for release across selected Asian markets, including Singapore, Japan, and the Philippines. Pricing is listed at around US$40, approximately S$55, with the release date yet to be specified.
