Early Clone Trooper Design in Resin

Early Clone Trooper Design in Resin

Regal Robot has announced a new addition to its Archive Collection with the release of the Clone Trooper Concept Maquette Replica – Doug Chiang Signature Edition. Drawn from early design work for Star Wars Attack of the Clones, this release translates a key concept sculpture into a full-scale resin replica, focusing on lineage, accuracy, and archival presentation rather than character depiction as seen on screen.

The maquette is based directly on the original concept sculpture by Michael Murnane, with development carried out using access to original archive materials. Produced at 1:1 scale to the original maquette, the replica reflects the proportions and surface treatment of the early Clone Trooper design, presenting a form that predates the final on-screen armour. Each piece is cast in solid resin and finished with multiple layers of hand painting, resulting in subtle variation between individual units.

Specifications

The replica stands approximately 13.75 inches tall, including the wooden display base. It is produced as a solid-resin statue rather than a model kit and is intended purely for display. The release is part of Regal Robot’s Archive Collection and is mastered from original moulds to maintain direct lineage to the source sculpture.

Accessories / Features

Each Signature Edition includes a magnetic, removable blaster rifle and a black display base. A metal plaque is affixed to each piece and is hand-signed and hand-numbered by Doug Chiang, the concept design supervisor for the film. A certificate of authenticity is included, and each replica is packaged in a gloss black box with carved foam inserts, then double-boxed for protection during shipping.
