In the Quiet of the Breach, a New Beast Emerges
Leatherback pushes through the rift in physical form as LingJiHun expands its Pacific Rim series into kaiju territory.
LingJiHun continues its progression through the Pacific Rim universe with the introduction of Leatherback, marking the company’s first kaiju entry after previously focusing on three core Jaeger units. This release centres on one of the most recognisable creatures from the Hong Kong battle sequence, presenting the Category IV kaiju in a format built for articulated and display-based setups.
Specifications
The figure arrives in packaging notably larger than that of Crimson Typhoon and Gipsy Danger, reflecting the creature’s mass within the line. Once removed, the sculpt shows a head proportion significantly larger than earlier consumer iterations such as the NECA version. The body carries substantial weight, and articulation across the head, arms and legs allows more posing flexibility than expected for a creature of this structure.
Accessories and Features
Leatherback includes its main body and an additional set of interchangeable hands. The articulation system enables grounded poses as well as upright stances, with reinforced wrist joints supporting ape-like grounding postures. The figure also stands on both legs without additional support. Sculpted elements capture the kaiju’s distinctive bulky silhouette, forward posture and facial structure, while the jaw opens to a wide range of motion. Even without full extension, Leatherback stands visibly taller than the line’s Jaeger releases.
Release Details
Leatherback becomes the fourth entry in LingJiHun’s Pacific Rim lineup and the first kaiju to join the range. Following its strong presence at WF Shanghai, interest continues to build around potential future additions such as Otachi, alongside the anticipated expansions of Striker Eureka and Cherno Alpha to complete a Hong Kong battle display.
