Kotare Opens Pre-Orders for 1/32 Hurricane Mk.I (Early)

Kotare has officially opened pre-orders for the long-awaited 1/32 scale Hurricane Mk.I (Early), designated K32015, following overwhelming requests from modellers worldwide. Orders began on 20 October 2025, with shipping expected later in 2026. Customers placing pre-orders through the Kotare website are required to pay in full, with a 100% refund option available on request up to the shipping date.

The Hurricane Mk.I (Early) represents approximately 500 early production airframes built between late 1937 and late 1939, which served during the pre-war period, the Battle of France, and the Battle of Britain.

Specifications

The kit comprises 162 newly tooled injection-moulded parts, featuring early-production linen wings, a two-blade Vickers Weybridge “Watts” wooden propeller, single-piece nose cowling, and both unarmoured and armoured fuel tank cowlings. Builders can choose between ring-and-bead or reflector gun sights, unarmoured and armoured windscreens, and open or closed canopy configurations.

Additional details include Browning gun ports with and without flash eliminators, a G22 camera gun, five-spoke wheels with weighted tyres, and accurate undercarriage door options. The model’s engineering allows for a full-span lower wing incorporating a spar to ensure proper dihedral. Surface textures depict realistic fabric effects with refined stitching, rivet, and fastener detail.

Optional configurations provide a DeHavilland three-blade propeller, two-piece nose cowling, improved exhausts, pilot armour plating, and alternate undercarriage doors. The cockpit features a detailed instrument panel and seat variations with or without harnesses.
