The 2025 title-winning McLaren MCL39 makes its transition from the Formula 1 grid to LEGO Technic form with the reveal of set 42228 McLaren MCL39 F1 Car, the brand’s 2026 1:8 scale flagship racing release.

The 1,675-piece model commemorates the McLaren machine that secured both the 2025 Constructors’ Championship and World Drivers’ Championship. Continuing LEGO’s expansion into large-scale Formula 1 replicas, the set follows the established Technic format while incorporating the team’s 2025 papaya race livery.

Set 42228 comprises 1,675 elements and includes a detailed brick-built V6 engine, working suspension and an integrated DRS activation mechanism connected to the gearbox assembly.
