The Machibouke Gundam Series Scales Up
A new L Size edition of the Waiting Mobile Suit Gundam gashapon line has been revealed, bringing a noticeable size increase to the seated mobile suit figures. Part of Bandai’s long-running Machibouke concept, this release revisits the familiar “waiting” pose while scaling the figures up by approximately 1.5 times compared to previous entries in the series.
The Machibouke Gundam line reinterprets mobile suits in a chibi-style, two-head-tall proportion, depicting them seated with knees drawn up as if waiting for deployment. The new L Size format enhances their display presence while retaining the same restrained, static pose that defines the series. The lineup consists of four variants: the RX-78 Gundam, an eye-visible Gundam version, the Mass Production Zaku II, and the High Mobility Zaku II in the Black Tri-Stars colour scheme.
Specifications
The figures measure approximately 6 centimetres tall for the Gundam units and around 5.2 centimetres for the Zaku units. The series consists of four different variants, all produced in the enlarged L Size format.
Release Details
The Waiting Mobile Suit Gundam L Size gashapon series is priced at 600 yen per capsule, which converts to approximately S$5.40. Distribution is scheduled to begin in late April 2026, with all four variants available through randomised capsule release.
