Two Initial’D RX-7 FD3S Models Added to Ignition Model’s Catalogue
Two new 1/18 scale RX-7 models join Ignition Model’s catalogue, each offering a different approach to the yellow FD3S configuration.
Ignition Model has opened pre-orders for two upcoming releases within its Initial D range, presenting the Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) in paired variants built around the same core vehicle design. Both adopt the recognisable yellow scheme from the series, with distinctions made through functionality and display intent.
Specifications
Each model is produced at 1/18 scale, following the FD3S body profile with the expected panel layout, headlight structure and interior configuration. The exterior shaping and stance remain consistent across both versions, with identical aerodynamic components and wheel selection. Materials and finish correspond to the manufacturer’s standard practice for this product line.
Accessories and Features
The IG3940 Sound & LED version incorporates electronic features, including retractable headlights, LED illumination and an engine start-up and idling sound effect. Operation of the headlight covers can be carried out using an included magnetic tool, allowing adjustments whether the model is powered or unpowered.
The IG3941 version replaces the electronic elements with a static driver figure. This variant centres on presenting the vehicle alongside a character display rather than functional components. Apart from the inclusion of the figure, the vehicle body remains structurally identical to the Sound & LED version.
Release Details
Both IG3940 and IG3941 are available for pre-order through Ignition Model’s online catalogue. IG3940 is priced at ¥42,900 (approximately S$390), and IG3941 at ¥40,700 (approximately S$370). Delivery for both versions is targeted for 2026, subject to production scheduling. The two configurations provide alternative display options based on preference for functional features or character association.
