When the Skies Split Open the Flying Demon Descends

Spiral Studio has released FD001 Flying Demon, the final entry in its Kaiju Doom series. Conceived by David Igo and sculpted by Paul Komoda, this figure represents the theme of “SOUL” and concludes the trilogy’s dark medieval setting where monstrous entities known as Demon Gods rise from the depths to devastate humanity.

The Flying Demon stands 30.2 cm tall, spans 40.6 cm across its wings, and measures 33 cm in depth including its tail, making it the largest in the line. Cast in vinyl and PVC by ACRO, it features two massive wings, six insect-like arms tipped with claws, dual horns, and a secondary demon face on its back that extends into a pincer-tipped tail. The blue-toned finish symbolises the soul’s spectral energy, contrasting with the fiery hues of the earlier Demon Gods.

As the third and final “Demon God,” the Flying Demon concludes the Kaiju Doom storyline. The series centres on a lone knight who, after losing everything to these creatures, turns their power against them to become a God Killer. The figure reflects this final confrontation, marking the end of Spiral Studio’s Kaiju Doom project.
