A starfighter that once terrorised the Rebel Alliance on the big screen has been recreated as a studio scale collectible by EFX Collectibles. The TIE Interceptor Studio Scale Replica Signature Edition draws its form directly from Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, reproducing the angular, four-winged fighter flown by Imperial pilots in the film’s climactic space battle.
Features
The replica has been developed from a digital scan of a genuine screen-used TIE Interceptor model, held within the Lucasfilm archive and originally built by Industrial Light & Magic during production of Return of the Jedi. This approach allows EFX Collectibles to reproduce the distinctive geometry of the fighter’s solar wing panels and cockpit sphere as they existed on the physical studio model, rather than relying solely on reference photography or blueprints. As a Signature Edition release, the piece is expected to carry an authentication element tied to a contributor from the film’s effects production, in keeping with EFX Collectibles’ recent approach to its studio scale line.
