The Deluxe edition of Hot Toys’ sixth-scale Spider-Man statue takes Peter Parker’s back-to-basics story further, dropping him into a diorama built around two of his sharpest adversaries. Stripped of the high-tech resources he once relied on, Peter now navigates the daily grind of the city on his own terms, and this version dresses him for the part while placing him in the middle of a fight.
Features
The masked head sculpt carries four interchangeable pairs of eye-pieces, allowing a spread of expressions to be recreated. The body has been built with a bulkier physique and improved proportions, tracking the character’s evolution across the film, and moves through thirty points of articulation. A tailored suit in red and blue elastic fabric handles the flexibility side of things, built to hold up through mid-air acrobatic poses, while ten interchangeable hands cover everything from open gestures to a proper combat grip.
What sets this version apart is the wardrobe. A black beanie and a multi-coloured striped puffer vest are exclusive to the Deluxe release, dressing Spider-Man for the colder stretches of city life rather than the usual costume-only presentation. Accessories carry over the essentials: magnetically attachable web-shooters, six strings of spider-web effects in varying shapes and lengths, a mobile phone, and a Key to the City of New York.
The centrepiece addition is a battle-themed diorama base, exclusive to this version, that sets the statue into the thick of a confrontation. It includes a pair of Boomerang’s weapons and Scorpion’s tail, the latter fitted with a bendable wire in the tip so it can be posed dynamically alongside the figure.
