Few pieces of industrial machinery have become as iconic as the Caterpillar P-5000 Work Loader. Hot Toys celebrates 40 years of Aliens by bringing Ellen Ripley’s unlikely weapon of choice against the Alien Queen to collectors in the new 1/6th scale Power Loader Collectible.
Originally designed for industrial cargo handling, the Power Loader became one of the defining images of Aliens when Ripley climbed inside to protect Newt during the film’s climactic confrontation. Hot Toys recreates the imposing machine with a highly detailed mechanical framework finished in yellow and black, complemented by specially applied weathering effects and realistic cable wiring throughout.
Standing approximately 51.5cm tall, the Power Loader features over 18 points of articulation. Its mechanical arms, legs and grabbing claws can be posed, while the protective roll cage can be opened and the operator joysticks slid into position.
The cockpit is equipped with an operator seat, backrest and functional webbing harness system. USB-powered LED lighting is also incorporated into the design, illuminating the orange warning beacon on top and the interior of the roll cage with white light.
The Power Loader is designed to accommodate the 1/6th scale Ellen Ripley Collectible Figure, allowing collectors to recreate Ripley’s climactic battle against the Alien Queen. It can also be displayed alongside the 1/6th scale Alien Queen Collectible Figure as part of a larger Aliens display.
