BANDAI SPIRITS has announced the RG 1/144 Gundam Ground Type from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. The latest addition to the Real Grade Gunpla series is scheduled for release in February 2027.
The RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type was constructed using surplus parts from the RX-78 series. The mobile suit shares a high degree of parts commonality with the Ground Type GM, supporting maintenance and repairs in the field.
The RG Gundam Ground Type features detailed exterior armour produced using Bandai’s latest molding technology, with part separation and colour molding used to create layered detailing across the model. The articulated inner frame is designed to support kneeling poses while carrying the weapon container on its back.
The kit includes a 100mm Machine Gun, 180mm Cannon and shield. The 100mm Machine Gun can be disassembled for storage inside the weapon container, which features a sliding side panel and an ejectable weapon tray.
A rock part with two grooves is also included. When combined with the shield and 180mm Cannon, it allows the iconic firing scene from the anime’s opening sequence to be recreated.
