Street Fighter returns to the big screen with its first trailer reveal
Produced by Paramount Pictures and Legendary, the live-action adaptation revisits the iconic fighting franchise in a 1993 setting. The story centres on estranged fighters Ryu, portrayed by Andrew Koji, and Ken Masters, played by Noah Centineo, who are drawn back into conflict when Chun-Li, portrayed by Callina Liang, recruits them to take part in the World Warrior Tournament. While the tournament promises a high-intensity clash of martial arts skill and rivalry, a hidden conspiracy soon emerges, forcing the fighters to confront both one another and unresolved elements of their past.
Directed by Kitao Sakurai, the film aims to translate the long-running arcade series into a cinematic format, incorporating signature moves such as Hadoukens alongside fast-paced combat and a roster of recognisable characters from the franchise.
