TOMICA is taking a detour from the open road and heading straight to the sushi counter with a new collection of miniature vehicles disguised as some of Japan’s favourite sushi. The TAKARA TOMY MALL Original Premium Sushi TOMICA Set combines eight unusual die-cast creations in one display-ready set.
Following the earlier Sushi TOMICA releases, this premium collection features eight sushi-inspired vehicles representing tuna, scallop, salmon roe, conger eel, fatty tuna, gizzard shad, sea urchin and raw shrimp.
Each miniature is built into a substantial vinegar rice base, with the bodywork incorporating details such as moulded windows, headlights, taillights and licence plates. The interiors continue the theme with rice-grain-shaped seats and steering wheels decorated with rice motifs.
The sushi toppings are finished with detailed paintwork designed to reproduce the appearance of their real-world counterparts, including small touches such as cucumber slices and yuzu peel. The rice bases feature a red vinegar colour, while the light brown tyres are designed to resemble wheels dipped in soy sauce.
A sushi counter-style display base is included, providing a dedicated way to arrange all eight miniature sushi vehicles together.
