Airfix has released its new 1:48 scale SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A model kit (A11010), featuring an updated tooling based on detailed LIDAR scans of a preserved aircraft at the Bentwaters Cold War Museum.

The kit consists of 243 parts, comprising 230 grey plastic components and 13 clear parts, and allows modellers to build either the GR.1 or GR.1A variant. It includes recessed panel lines, cockpit options with early and late ejection seats, and movable control surfaces such as airbrakes, flaps, and slats. The undercarriage and wheel wells are detailed, and the kit provides a selection of ordnance including 1,000lb bombs, 1,200-litre fuel tanks, AIM-9L Sidewinders, PHIMAT pods, and AN/ALQ-101 ECM pods.

Four marking options are included:

• XX724 of No. 54 Squadron, RAF Lossiemouth, 1974
• XX741 of No. 6 Squadron, RAF Coltishall, 1990–94
• XZ118 “Buster Gonad” of 41 (Composite) Squadron, Operation Granby, Bahrain, 1990–91
• XZ101 of II(AC) Squadron, RAF Laarbruch, 1976
